About CarsApp

We aggregate and enrich safety recall data published by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) — currently 10,571 recall campaignscovering vehicles, tires, equipment, and child seats. For each recall we surface what's wrong, why it matters, and what the fix is, in plain English.

Our goal is to be the fastest way for any car owner to check for open recalls, and a serious research tool for the professionals — OEM safety teams, journalists, researchers, and law firms — who work with this data every day.

Data sources

All recall information originates from NHTSA's public datasets and official Part 573 safety recall reports. CarsApp is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NHTSA. Always confirm a recall and its remedy with the manufacturer using your VIN.
