Defect
Newell Coach Corp. (Newell) is recalling certain 2023-2024 P50 motor coaches. The brake lights may fail to illuminate unless the brake pedal is fully depressed.
Risk / consequence
Brake lights that fail to illuminate may reduce the visibility of the vehicle or fail to indicate to other drivers that the coach is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Newell will rewire the brake switch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 14, 2023. Owners may contact Newell customer service at 1-888-363-9355.

2/23/2023 NEWELL COACH NOTICED A COACH'S TAILIGHTS NOT DISPLAYING WHILE SLOWING DOWN ONTHE PROPERTY. NEWELL IMMEDIATELY CONDUCTED A QUALITY REVIEW AND DETERMINDED THE INSTALLATION OF AN ADDITIONAL BRAKE SWITCH TO ACCOMODATE A REQUIRED BRAKE SIGNAL FOR THE PUSH BUTTON START IGINTION WAS MISS WIRED, INADVERTENTLY BYPASSING THE ORIGNIAL BRAKE SWITCH
