Water Pump Harness Fuse Inadequately Protected

REV Recreation Group (REV) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Fleetwood Discovery and Holiday Rambler Endeavor motorhomes, equipped with Remco 50-54 Rebel 4.0 GPM water pumps. The water pump harness was designed with inadequate fuse protection.

Risk / consequence

Inadequate fuse protection may cause harness damage, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and relocate the water pump circuit to a properly sized fuse as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 15, 2024. Owners may contact REV customer service at 1-800-509-3417. REV's number for this recall is 240416REV.

Chronology of events

1. Mar 11, 2024

   3/11/2024 During a routine engineering audit it was discovered that the wiring harness for the larger capacity water pump was incorrectly designed and not fused properly. 3/12 Engineering called for a stop ship and conducted further investigation. 3/18 Engineering reviewed other models and it was determined that the Fleetwood Discovery and Holiday Rambler Endeavor 38 N were the only models and floorplans effected. 3/25 A list of units in REV’s inventory were also inspected. 4/1 Further engineering investigation showed that the water pump circuitry was changed as result of the larger capacity water pump. The previous water pump had a completely different harness configuration and was designed properly. 4/6 All units on stop ship were repaired by relocating the harness to an appropriately sized 15-amp fuse. 4/11 REV RV’s safety committee met to discuss engineering investigation results. 4/16 REV RV decided to inspect and if needed repair all Discovery and Endeavor 38 N model units in the field through the manufacture date of December 2021.
