Exterior Patio Outlet May Lack GFCI Protection

REV Recreation Group (REV) is recalling certain 2019-2025 Holiday Rambler Admiral, 2023-2025 Holiday Rambler Eclipse, Fleetwood Flex, and 2019-2024 Fleetwood Flair motorhomes. The exterior patio outlet may lack GFCI protection when powered by the generator or shore cord.

Risk / consequence

An outlet without GFCI protection may fail to shut off electrical power when a ground-fault occurs, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Dealers will install GFCI protection device prior to the inverter transfer switch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 11, 2024. Owners may contact REV customer service at 1-800-509-3417. REV's number for this recall is 240812REV.

Chronology of events

1. Jul 8, 2024

   07/08/24 REV RV manufacturing team questioned the design to REV’s electrical engineer. 07/09 Engineering started an investigation by reviewing prints and determining scope. 07/11 A stop ship process was put on units until verification of scope was determined and affected units were repaired. 07/18 Engineering determined that range of units affected to be from the introduction of the selected floorplans due to an oversight. 07/24 Units on Stop Ship were repaired. 07/26 Engineering offered summary of the investigation to the safety committee for consideration. 07/29 Safety committee met to discuss engineering investigation results and sent recommendation to declare a voluntary safety campaign to REV Senior Leadership Team for consideration and review. 08/09 DIR Approval to proceed with Part 573 Safety Recall Report.
