Defect
Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Commercial Office trailers equipped with CK7G generators. The insulated exhaust port outlet may fail, which can result in damage to other components.
Risk / consequence
An exhaust port failure increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy
ATC will work with the equipment manufacturer, CK Power, to inspect and replace the exhaust pipe, gaskets and mufflers as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 5, 2024. Owners may contact ATC customer service at 1-877-441-2440, ext. 3422.
Chronology of events
- Aug 23, 2024
CK Power notified ATC of a safety notice for specific serial numbered generators. Our initial investigation did not show we had used any of these generators. CK Power then sent us the specific purchase orders with the specific serial numbers and we were able to find that we had used 12 of the 16 generators in trailers they had sent us. We were able to then determine which vin numbers these were used in. After this investigation it was determined on 8/23/24 a recall needed to be submitted.
