Defect
KTM North America, Inc. (KTM) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Husqvarna FE 350s, FE 501s, and 2024-2025 GASGAS ES 350 and ES 500 motorcycles. The front brake caliper may crack in the area around the upper guide pin.
Risk / consequence
A broken front brake caliper can cause a loss of front brake function, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the front brake caliper, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 11, 2025. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090.
Chronology of events
- April 2024
In the course of ongoing market monitoring, the first case of the mounting point of the brake caliper guide pin breaking was from supplier J. Juan, in April 2024. KTM Sportmotorcycle GmbH and the supplier began investigating the components and condition in April 2024. KTM Sportmotorcycle GmbH and J. Juan investigated the conditions, and the final technical confirmation was sent on October 21, 2024. No injuries or deaths have been reported.
