Forest River Bus, LLC (Forest River Bus) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Champion Challenger, Defender, 2024-2025 Glaval Entourage, and 2023-2024 Glaval Universal transit buses. The entry door ground wire may be incorrectly connected to the positive side of the battery instead of the negative ground.

Risk / consequence

An incorrect ground connection increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Dealers will repair the wiring at the entry door, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 2, 2025. Owners may contact Forest River Bus customer service at 800-348-7440. Forest River Bus's number for this recall is 05-1925.

Chronology of events

1. Apr 24, 2025

   On April 24, 2025, Forest River's Office of Corporate Compliance ("OCC") was notified by the manufacturing division of the concern. OCC opened a research item the same day.

2. Apr 25, 2025

   On April 25, 2025, Forest River's Corporate Safety Committee voted to recall. Forest River is still identifying affected vehicles and will amend this campaign once the research is complete.

3. Apr 28, 2025

   On April 28, 2025, I received an email from NHTSA regarding the make name of the bus being Starcraft Champion. Verified that is the incorrect make and corrected it to reflect Champion Challenger CH1017 Buses.
