Defect
Shyft Group (Shyft) is recalling certain 2015-2025 Utilimaster Truck Body vehicles. The signal converter may fail, which can cause the brake lights and turn signals to become inoperative.
Risk / consequence
Inoperative turn signals and brake lights can fail to alert other road users to the driver's intentions to turn or stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Shyft will inspect and repair the signal converter connecters as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 7, 2025. Owners may contact Shyft customer service at 1-800-237-7806. Shyft's number for this recall is 25-16.

- Jun 13, 2025
06/13/2025 – Failed part received at Manufacturer for analysis. Engineering removed a known functional signal converter from customer vehicle for analysis and meet with customer.

06/18/2025 – Determined inconsistent manufacturing process of installation of signal converter and shared with customer.
- Jun 19, 2025
06/19/2025 – Risk Assessment completed with recommendation to proceed with a campaign approval.
