Grech Motors Inc. (Grech) is recalling certain 2022-2023, 2025 Terreno, 2021-2025 Turismo, and 2020-2025 Strada motorhomes. The retractable awning may extend unintentionally during transit.

Risk / consequence

An awning extending unintentionally during transit may become a distraction or road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy

Dealers will install a lock plate, and replace the winch assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 24, 2025. Owners may contact Grech customer service at 1-951-688-8347.

Chronology of events

1. February 2025

   January – February 2025: Grech RV seeks input from Fiamma concerning instances of inadvertent awning deployment. Fiamma denied the existence of a manufacturing defect.

2. Jun 24, 2025

   June 24, 2025: Grech RV received notification from the awning supplier, Fiamma, Inc., of an incident of unintended awning deployment. Grech reviews the circumstances of this incident and undertakes an investigation into the subject awning.

3. Jul 1, 2025

   July 1, 2025: While Grech RV is conducting its review of the incident and company data, Grech receives an email inquiry from NHTSA regarding VOQ #11668764.

4. Jul 17, 2025

   July 17, 2025: Grech RV provides information to NHTSA in response to its email inquiry regarding VOQ #11668764.

5. Jul 23, 2025

   July 23, 2025: Grech RV provides additional information to NHTSA stemming from its email inquiry. As of the date of this submission, following a review of available records, Grech RV has received 19 warranty claims involving alleged inadvertent awning deployment, the first of which was received in September 2023.
