Defect
Storyteller Overland, LLC (Storyteller) is recalling certain 2024-2026 GXV Hilt recreational vehicles. The auxiliary power system wires may have been improperly. The wires may be damaged by contact with the intake manifold.
Risk / consequence
Damaged wire may overheat and short, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect, replace, and secure the wires as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 8, 2025. Owners may contact Storyteller customer service at 1-888-999-7442.
Chronology of events
On August 28th, Storyteller’s customer service team received a report of a thermal event in the engine bay of a GXV HILT that was extinguished by the customer.
On August 29th, Storyteller Overland’s Safety Committee met to open an investigation.
On September 4th, Storyteller Overland’s Safety Committee voted to recall GXV HILTs due to the potential for improperly routed wiring.
