Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2026 Entegra Cornerstone Reserve, 2025-2026 Cornerstone, Aspire, and Anthem recreational vehicles. The slide-out room can be deployed without the parking brake engaged, allowing the room to extend while the vehicle is in motion.

Risk / consequence

A slide-out room that extends unexpectedly increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and replace the slide-out motors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 11, 2025. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9903642.

Chronology of events

1. Sep 25, 2025

   9/25/2025 Jayco Engineering emailed Jayco compliance regarding B500 slide-out motors that we purchased from Klauber Machine and Gear Co. with date codes of J24, D25, or E25 that may have been manufactured with the incorrect non-heat treated mild steel keys and needed to be manufactured with heat treated alloy steel keys. Per Klauber Machine and Gear Co. they did stress calculations for the keys. Based on material specs of the non-heat treated key, it should be able to withstand approximately 1066 in-lbs. of torque. Performance tests at the 300 in-lbs. rated load would not show any failures. However, at the 20 amp limit where the slide is hitting the stops, the motor is generating over 1500 in- lbs. Since this is beyond the material limits, it explains the potential for failures. An incident was created by Jayco compliance at that time.

   9/29/2025 The Warranty Incident Review Committee (WIRC) discussed the incident and elevated it to CPAC.

   10/1/2025 The Corrective Preventive Action Committee (CPAC) discussed the incident and elevated it to SSC.

4. Oct 23, 2025

   10/23/2025 The Safety Steering Committee (SSC) met and voted to proceed with filing a safety recall with NHTSA. Jayco Inc. is aware of 4 claims related to Klauber Co.’s B500 slide-motor failures.
