Defect

Forest River Bus, LLC (Forest River Bus) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Collins School Bus and 2025-2026 Trans Tech School Bus vehicles equipped with certain QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Risk / consequence

An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 10, 2025. Owners may contact Forest River Bus customer service at 1-800-348-7440. Forest River Buses number for this recall is 51-2008.

Chronology of events

  1. Oct 27, 2025

    On October 27, 2025, Forest River's Office of Corporate Compliance ("OCC") received a recall notice (25E063) from Q'Straint.

  2. Oct 28, 2025

    On October 28, 2025, Forest River requested the shipping history to all Forest River Bus, LLC. manufacturing plants. OCC started working with resources to produce reports to search for the optional seatbelt restraints.

  3. Nov 3, 2025

    On November 3, 2025, the reports became available. OCC then worked with the manufacturing plant to begin determining if any vehicles had the affected components installed.

  4. Nov 11, 2025

    On November 11, 2025, and November 12, 2025, OCC and the manufacturing plant verified vehicles were manufactured with the affected components.
