Risk / consequence

Reduced visibility while driving can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and replace the windshield as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 21, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PMA58. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 21, 2025.

Chronology of events

  1. Aug 25, 2025

On August 25, 2025, during a routine yard audit at the Nissan Aguas II plant, a technician identified air bubbles trapped between the two sheets of glass and the Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) film of the front windshield assembly on a Model Year 2025 Nissan Sentra vehicle. Nissan quarantined the vehicle and initiated an investigation together with the supplier.

  2. August 2025

August 2025 through September 2025 – Nissan and the supplier conducted duplication testing and discovered the bubble type delamination was potentially caused by foreign particles trapped between the glass sheets and the PVB film. The trapped air may create a separation between the components, resulting in a bubble appearance.

  3. October 2025

October 2025 – Investigation of the supplier’s assembly process determined that the root cause of the delamination was potentially caused by misaligned locator pins within the front windshield glass molds.
