Defect
Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2024 All American transit buses. A loose 12-volt cable may disconnect, causing a loss of electrical systems.
Risk / consequence
A loss of brake assist, drive power, steering assist, or instrument panel displays can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect, add a torque stripe, and properly tighten the 12-volt cable as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 17, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.

November 2025: Report of an electric school bus being involved in an accident. Customer mentioned the vehicle lost propulsion when in motion and collided with a tree.

November 2025: Blue Bird Customer Service team investigated and identified a power cable was unsecured at the 12V battery disconnect switch.

December 2025: Blue Bird started an internal investigation to identify the cause.

December 2025: Blue Bird Product Safety Committee decided to voluntarily recall EV’s to verify the power cable connections.
