Forest River Bus, LLC (Forest River Bus) is recalling certain 2026 Collin Bus transit buses. The body panel joint adhesive may have been applied to the incorrect location, causing the panels to separate. As such these vehicle fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."

Risk / consequence

Separated body panels can reduce structural integrity, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and apply adhesive as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 16, 2026. Owners may contact Forest River Bus customer service at 1-620-888-3310. Forest River Bus's number for this recall is 551-2023.

Chronology of events

1. Jan 13, 2026

   On January 13, 2026, Engineering found the concern while working in the department in a support role. Starting that same day through January 21, 2026, a review of production was done, and other vehicles were found that exhibited this non-compliance.

2. Jan 23, 2026

   On January 23, 2026, Forest Rivers Corporate recall committee voted to recall.

3. Jan 27, 2026

   On January 27, 2026, an amendment was made to include the safety risk.
