Brake Lines May Become Damaged and Leak

Rossmonster Vans LLC (Rossmonster) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Baja Ex and Baja LX motorhomes, equipped with Carli extended stainless steel front brake lines. The brake lines may have been incorrectly routed, allowing the brake line to contact the front tire. Contact with the tire may damage the brake lines and cause a leak.

Risk / consequence

A brake fluid leak can decrease braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and reroute the brake lines as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 13, 2026. Owners may contact Rossmonster customer service at 1-720-295-0623.

Chronology of events

1. Nov 10, 2025

   November 10, 2025 Rossmönster received a field report alleging that a front brake line had contacted the tire. The vehicle was inspected and repaired by a third-party service facility. The servicing facility reported that the passenger-side brake line bracket (OEM Ford component) was bent in a manner that allowed the brake line to contact the tire. At the time of inspection, it was not possible to determine whether the bracket deformation occurred during installation, vehicle operation, or off-road use. No injuries, crashes, or brake fluid loss were reported. Rossmönster internally identified the brake line bracket as a component requiring increased inspection focus. Mid-November 2025 Rossmönster contacted Carli Suspension to inquire about potential alternative brake line configurations and/or alternative bracket solutions that may provide increased robustness or clearance. No deviations from existing installation guidance were identified at that time. Internal build and service teams were advised to verify brake line routing and bracket positioning during inspection.

2. December 2025

   December 2025 – February 2026 Rossmönster monitored field performance and did not identify additional confirmed reports of brake line contact. As a precautionary measure, the Service Department prepared a draft Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) to reinforce inspection of brake line routing and bracket condition.

3. Feb 18, 2026

   February 18, 2026 During internal cross-functional review of the draft TSB, Rossmönster identified an inconsistency in the brake line installation procedure related to the originally reported bent bracket. The inconsistency had the potential, under certain conditions, to reduce brake line clearance with the tire The matter was escalated for engineering and safety review.

4. Feb 19, 2026

   February 19 2026 Following internal evaluation, Rossmönster determined that the identified installation inconsistency could create a condition in which brake line could rub the tire. In the interest of safety, Rossmönster decided to conduct a voluntary safety recall to inspect and, where necessary, correct brake line installation on affected vehicles. Rossmönster is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to this condition.
