Defect
Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2024 Cougar, 2025-2026 Alpine, 2026 Montana, and Walkabout recreational trailers. The shock bolts may have been incorrectly tightened.
Risk / consequence
Loose shock bolts may cause a loss of vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the shock bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 1, 2026. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 26-483.

05/08/2026 – Report was made. LCI notified Keystone RV that they have identified a potential concern involving shock bolts on the Curt Touring Suspension System installed on specific Lippert chassis. Sporadic instances of improper torque have been identified.

05/10/2026 – Warranty claims for shock bolts include 1 claims, claim created start date 4/25/2024 to claim created end date 05/10/2026

05/15/2026 – Keystone Safety Committee reviewed the information and concluded that the data reviewed indicated a unanimous vote for a voluntary recall.
